(note: as of the moment, i haven't accessed the antho yet. will update this post from time to time. i managed to access the cbz file, but you have to fix some things to properly view my work, as the pages should be read as pairs, as spreads. anyway, i am thinking, i might release a print version soon, since there are errors with regard to the order of the pages. just check the fb page for further updates. update: please check the fb page and its links from time to time, some glitches and stuff are being fixed as we speak. issuu link works fine, i think. about "its Motors in service"

The hybrid work "its Motors in service" uses as source text the transcription of two speeches delivered by an entity who projects himself as heir to the leadership of his parents, by employing empty words without action, as consequence of roughly imbibing the teachings of his parents. Machines humans dream of and visions machines imagine intervene the encoded articulation of the said entity. The words, upon the interruption of images, are then silenced, violated, sliced, devoured and regurgitated into a work against words spoken by an entity that does not work, and thus deserves to be phased out.

"splitting the atom" ++

from the college of fine arts, the CONDEMNED exhibit is now at hardin ng mga diwata of the college of arts and letters. if things go well, a print edition of our komix "Die Philosophen" (a slightly different version from the one that appeared in highchair 18: poetry comics issue) shall be available at BLTX VI (makiki-squat ata ako sa may bandang Cabinet). following* "Nang Mag-agaw-dilim ang mga Kabataang Mangangaso sa Majayjay" of Factsheet 6, is my contribution to Fact Sheet 7 / Down the Drain: The Wasted State of Human Rights under the Aquino Regime, "Splitting the Atom," which is about the illegal detention case of physicist, environmentalist, activist, professor Kim Gargar:

let us brace ourselves for Hagupit and bear with the crap that is the Aquino regime, so we have enough strength for vigilance and for mass action. taas kamaong solidarity sa panawagan para sa climate justice at para sa karapatang pantao!

hiatus? hiatus. wail.

this is a notice of hiatus. from blogging. from social media. though i've done this fvck of a declaration a number of times. at least a month. i'll try to shut the fvck up for at least a month, and shut myself inside my head of a room and get things over w. if the gods are w me, i will pull this off at the end of 2013:

meanwhile, give me a month or two (or less? i hope) and i shall release two things: the [second pseud] and the [gastro zine]. that is all. i thank you. that's not all. there's more. btw, you are there in the image. that is where i am, too. that is where we all are, unless we are that holy bull, or coopted into that fvck. belated, ginsberg. i think that's it is all for now. sem starts. life ends. for the nth time.

gator as guilt incarnate

in the latest annote [A HIDDEN WORSHIP] at tekstong bopis, dennis mentioned the possibility of the crocodile being "the unconverted native, the wild and disobedient," something "re-purposed by the dominant power as an emblem of terror." this is something i'll try to explore, but first, a short komix:

the mother of crocodiles

re-read, re-view: [OPEN SEASON] recaps the first four chapters of El Fili, showing us the waters where crocs move about; [crocs across, beyond pages] follows, pulling us perhaps to and fro our arkham asylums; [GROUNDS FOR SPORT] opens the table for competition among stories, story tellers and the involved hocus-pcos (this entry was posted while the ritual, wherein people cast their blessings to democracy, takes place; reptilian fvckers olympics, w the usual 'every vote counts' as punchline; their game, their rules; we are but mere spectators so the democratic practice maintains whatever legitimacy it claims to have, w the assumed mandate blessed by the populace; indeed, "The larger the crocodile, the greater the glory of St. Nicholas."); [WORD MAGICKS] probes into the probable sources of power of fr. salvi: story and stone, hence the inquiry: "What are the implications of turning the devil itself into stone?" story and stone. let me hit my head w the latter.

obliterate something of value, and you make a name for, even a legend of, yourself, the hero. titles, like "dragonslayer," for instance. now, once you own something of value, that is another, well, story. more of an honorific than a title, "mother of dragons,"  imho, has a better ring to it than "dragonslayer." to obliterate or to own a crocodile is the question. fr. salvi opted for both, as expounded in WORD MAGICKS; but let me focus on owning:

crocs across, beyond pages

[note: i think this entry is more about the process of coming up w the image herein rather than engaging the narrative, so please bear w me if i refer to previous works and processes and stuff that i have been trying to sort in order to write this entry in as comprehensible a manner as possible. if you're fine w that, let the chaos of rizal's el fili x morrison's batman x crocodiles x upcoming elections x etc begin. if you're not interested, postpone reading this and begin w omaca-an wanderings.]

two days prior the elections; thus this second installment to this series. the first being [OPEN SEASON: The Crocodiles of El Fili] up at the tekstong bopis blog, where a backgrounder of this attempt to dive deeper into the rivers, actually and figuratively maybe, of rizal's El Filibusterismo is provided by dennis. he discussed how simoun the jeweler "traverses the strata" of the upper (chapter 1) and the lower (chapter 2) deck of steamship tabo. indeed, "excesses from above result in suffering below, acquiescence or struggle from below stabilizes or destabilizes the powers above."

free comic book day: linx

besides the mayo uno collab w tekstong bopis [his annotes here], i have nothing new to give and to take today, as i have no new komix to offer and i haven't grabbed any free komix. so, let me share old stuff:

you may reach me in whatever way* you know to 1) reserve a free copy of "komentaryo ng kalbo: isang fanfiction;" and/or 2) order a print edition of "retrograde: stories & images," but it would need your patience as print copies are not ready. let us meet somewhere, u.p diliman area so i can give you your copy/ies. else you may want to 1) read the online version of "komentaryo..." [here]; and/or 2) access whatever link works for you and read "retrograde..." [here]. else, you may want to drop by fully booked, since komix-related stuff are on sale. else, you may go on with your life and not give a fvck about comic books. that is all. i thank you. end of blog entry linking recycled quasi contributions to this so-called fcbd.

*you may drop your contact details as a comment in this entry, so i'd be the one to reach you. or message tha karMa page. in case you're wondering, and in case we are going to do a meet up, i included a cartographic sketch by apol sta maria (noong bltx ata ito, last 2012, sa cubao).

shameless plugs x 9

as i've mentioned, i'll be releasing a komix collection (hopefully) this weekend. though you may download it for free, you may also pre-order but we'll have to communicate / negotiate on the terms and conditions. so, yes, it shall be more hassle-free to just do away w the soft copy, but, of course, the print edition will be sorta special w bonus stuff. also, i updated my publications / carcasses section, you may want to look at it, and you may pre-order other titles herein, but, again, we'll have to communicate:

C | harapin ang hinagap: mga prosa, (2012). A | Ang Sandatahang Banga (O Kung Bakit Maraming Banga sa Elbi), Additional Photos by Grekka Sarmiento and Jonallin Yang, (2011). R | Ang Engkwentro sa Palma Bridge ng mga Batang Pinalaya(s) sa Sinapupunan, (2007, Reprinted 2009). C | Lihim ng mga Lespu, Illus. by Ayesha Sarapuddin, (2010). O | Pseudocuments Volume One: Prose Poetry Pictures, (2012). S | Panayam Kay Io, (2010). I | Komentaryo ng Kalbo: Fanfiction, (2012). T | tilde's shorts (tentative title, collection of komix previously published elsewhere, 2013). E | postulait (2013?).

forthcoming postulait++

this is a cover study of "postulait," an upcoming silent komix that i hope to finish at the soonest time possible.

i'll upload previews or samples soon, as i wouldn't be using this style in the inside pages. also, i will be putting up a komix collection that will include shorts that appeared elsewhere. it will include all my QBCCC entries. it will be available as a free download, though print editions may be pre-ordered w, i dont know, perks of some sort. and, i think the QBCCC peeps are working on a website and it shall be up soon. end of message.

factsheet6, siklab, rights3, bltxxx, qbccc3, zines

this is a nostalgia-tripping, looking-back, noting-to-self-what-i-have-been-doing post, so please bear w me. first things first, because tomorrow, we march to commemorate the international human rights day. way back 2010, we made a stop-motion vid to show the human rights situation in the philippines:

characters | stories

this senseless quasinstagramming began with a facebook album with the note: "images herein are characters that belong to their respective stories and/or storytellers. lame editing and labeling and manipulating, care of yours truly. ~tilde a. (if image/s in this repository happen/s to belong to you, and you want it removed, or you want to be credited, or whatever action you deem necessary, please inform me. no copyright infringement or any such related offense intended. thank you.)" since there are a total of eighteen characters in the album, and my blog has been idle, why not put them up here, to celebrate the sort of debut (wtf, eh?): 18 characters, each with a respective story, that i may or may not use as inspiration one of these days. the labels are, of course, not official labels but subjective ones, thus serving as a personal interpretation with each of the characters. for instance, i labelled chihiro a child-laborer because i go with the reading that indeed hayao miyazaki's magnum opus is somewhat a "nightmare of capitalist Japan." but, of course, not all are in-depth readings, as some titles or roles or symbolims or whatever-the-fvcks are obvious. that is all. i thank you for dropping by. bye.

chihiro. the child-laborer.

nickel victory (melon plug)

the "positive version (? ie with colors not ctrl+i-ed ?)" of the piece "nickel victory" shall be included in the second collection of Melon, "a mini-comic pin-up collection by some of the most talented (and friendly) local komik creators in the scene." it shall be available at the komikon 2012 next saturday, october 27, where there shall also be copies, i believe, of quarterly bathroom companion comics compendium (qbccc). not sure if the plague anthology shall also be available, since copies were sold during the summer komikon. no new title from me this year. no booth as well. busy as hell with the usual acad hell week and recent smite week of, you know, well, you shall know, if you don't, i would rather not discuss as you might not be interested.* re: nickel victory, i don't think i can really do, you know, pin-ups but i guess somehow i have achieved something however trivial by having nickel victory included in such a collection. salamat sa mga nangalap ng dibuho. that is all kbye. *just in case you are interested, read teo marasigan's take on the issue of akbayan's disqualification. how i hate foolish hearts, drama kings, and their ilk.

* 1800 update. melon posted a cover. appending it here: *
